Terms of Service

Effective October 7, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the LeanMaxx iPhone app and this website (together, the "Service"), provided by LeanMaxx ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use LeanMaxx. The body-fat scan is currently calibrated for adult male physiology, and its results may be less accurate for anyone else.

2. Not medical advice

Projections of how you might look at a lower body fat are AI-generated visualizations. They are not a prediction or guarantee of results. Your results depend on your genetics, consistency and many other factors.

3. Your photos and content

• Only upload photos of yourself. Don't upload photos of anyone else, or of anyone under 18.
• You keep ownership of your photos and anything else you put into the app. You give us a limited license to store, process and transmit that content — including to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy — only as needed to provide the Service to you.
• You can delete your content at any time from Profile → Settings → Your data.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Some features, including the full plan, projections and weekly scans, require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period (weekly, monthly or yearly) unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings app → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
• If an offer includes a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription.
• Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country. If we change a price, Apple will notify you in advance as its rules require.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Because LeanMaxx has no accounts, your subscription is tied to your Apple ID. Use Restore Purchases in the app to unlock it on a new install.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, depicts someone without their consent, or depicts a minor.
• Use the Service to harass, impersonate or create images of other people.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload or interfere with the Service or its servers, or get around usage limits.
• Resell, sublicense or use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission.

We may limit usage (for example, the number of projections per day) to keep the Service reliable and affordable, and we may suspend access if these Terms are broken.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, software and the LeanMaxx name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules. These Terms don't give you any other rights to our intellectual property.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Apple, AI model providers, food databases and Apple Health. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them. Nutrition information from food databases may be incomplete or wrong.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate or projection will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for LeanMaxx in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to cover any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought against us by third parties that arise from content you upload or your breach of these Terms.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using LeanMaxx at any time by deleting your data and the app, and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and limits of liability) continue after your use ends.

12. Apple App Store terms

If you got LeanMaxx from Apple's App Store, you and we agree that:

• These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• Apple isn't responsible for addressing any claims by you or third parties relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection or privacy claims.
• If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
• You confirm you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you aren't on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Where these Terms don't cover something, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

14. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which LeanMaxx is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection law says otherwise. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
